Feudi di San Gregorio's "Serpico" is dedicated to the town where the cellar is sited: Sorbo Serpico, the ancient "Castrum Serpici" of the Romans. The wine is obtained from Agliano grapes.
After a long maceration (21 days) at a controlled temperature of 29º C maximum, and once the malolactic fermentation is finished, the wine is transferred to new French oak casks, for 15 months. The bottled wine is then kept in cellars for a minimum of six months.
Serpico has a deep ruby-red colour, strong persistent bouquet with hints of red currant, black cherry, plum and vanilla. Its flavour is mild, with dense tannins, good concentration and full body. It has a long-lasting bouquet with a pleasant aftertaste of red forest fruits over a well-blended background of new oak, spices and vanilla aromas.
